South Carolina Treasure and Artifact Association - MinutesJanuary 28, 2011

The SCTAA met on January 24, 2011 with 21 in attendance. Officer elections had to be postponed because we did not have a quorum (2/3 or 20 members present per the by-laws).We currently have 30 members including new members:Jeff Crites, Karl Bartsch, and Todd Wooten who all joined Monday night.We have a nomination for the vacant board position:Carter Mahaffee.

The program was a review of the monthly contests and the point system and promoting use of the club library.Robert Weaver presented ideas for a spring hunt at the farm on Hwy. 290.The hunt would be from 10 a.m. to noon, with a token hunt and a silver hunt and the fields will be larger than last time.To be determined at the next meeting:Hunt fee and Date and what type silver to get.Our next meeting will be February 28, 2011.

The annual Awards Banquet which we postponed a week due to snow, was attended by 54 people.

The best find of the year prize (Sponsored by Randy Reece) went to Roy Evans.Second place (sponsored by Donny Bagwell Detector Sales) went to Harold Bell.

November treasury ended with $1,195.31.We collected: Money Donations - $49.01, Membership Dues (2011) - $150.We purchased awards plaques for $148.70, coin prizes for the Awards Banquet and 2011 coin prizes for $928.We paid 2011 dues to FMDAC of $110.The closing balance is $207.62.
