NOTE; Everyone is asked to please pay their 2007 dues of $25 by the next meeting, January 22, 2007 so we can send in our national association dues and receive our ID cards.

2006 Awards Banquet is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 8, 2007 at 7 p.m. at Ryan's Steak House in Greer. Please make plans to attend and don't forget to bring your Best Find of the year for the Best Finds Competition that night. For those who are new, we each buy our own meal and gather in the private room at the front of Ryan's for a time of food and fellowship and the awards presentations. Bring your family and come on!

Treasure Found

A story concerning the real meaning of Christmas.

We all love to here stories of treasures sought for and especially those that have been found. Man has always searched for that which he considers to be of special value and the wise men in the book of Matthew were no different. most scholars of the bible believe the men to have been early astronomers from ancient Persia who somehow related the signs in the positioning of the planets and stars with the old testament prophesies of the coming of Christ. Some believe that they may have journeyed as much as two years before finally reaching Bethlehem where they found the young christ child, worshipped him , and presented him with treasures of gold, frankincense and myrrh. one can only imagine the joy they experienced at finding such a sought for treasure that they beheld.

John 3:16 says, For god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

While many of the treasures of life that we seek for may be quite elusive, this is one that we can all find. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Mark 8:36 Those who seek and find him today can be equated with the magic of old in that they are truly wise men!
